• Provides L-5-hydroxy-ryptophan (5-HTP), the precursor of serotonin, a key neurotransmitter. 

Description

5-HTP is the intermediate metabolite of the essential amino acid L-Tryptophan and the immediate end precursor in the biosynthesis of 5-hydroxy-tryptamine, which along with dopamine and norephinephrine are the three main monoamine neurotransmitters. Consider serotonin production and insomnia (sleep disorders), anxiety, nervousness, sugar cravings, appetite suppression, chronic and tension headaches, depression, moodiness, fibromyalgia, obesity, and aggressiveness.

Dosage

Adults: 1 capsule, two (2) times each day as a dietary supplement or as otherwise directed by a healthcare professional.

Caution : very high doses of 5-HTP can be metabolized peripherally and can trigger excessive serotonin formation. 5-HTP is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women and should be avoided by those with any form of cardiovascular disease. 5-HTP should not be used by those taking serotonin 5-HTP or receptor agonists (naratriptan, sumatriptan, zolmitriptan).

Attention : de très fortes doses de 5-HTP peuvent être métabolisées périphériquement et peuvent déclencher une formation excessive de sérotonine. Le 5-HTP n'est pas recommandé pour les femmes enceintes ou allaitantes et doit être évité par celles atteintes de toute forme de maladie cardiovasculaire. Le 5-HTP ne doit pas être utilisé par ceux qui prennent de la sérotonine 5-HTP ou des agonistes des récepteurs (naratriptan, sumatriptan, zolmitriptan).
