Description

Acetyl L-Carnitine is a protein building block that supports cognitive health and brain function by producing energy and stabilizing cell membranes. It is the acetylated form of L-carnitine, and the two compounds share similar energy and metabolism promoting properties. Naturally present in the body, acetyl-L-carnitine promotes the availability of acetyl-CoA, an important energy-producing metabolite. In addition, it supports mitochondrial function and the stability of cell membranes. The acetyl group from acetyl-L-carnitine is also responsible for the production of acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter for optimal mental functioning. A multi-center trial of 481 volunteers indicated that supplementation with acetyl-L-carnitine provided memory and behavioral support. In another randomized, double-blind trial, acetyl-L-carnitine supplementation provided statistically significant support for mental function, including memory and attention, compared to placebo.

Dosage

Adults: Take two capsules twice daily, or as directed by a as directed by a health care practitioner.
