Description

Cal Mag Vanilla Liquid + contributes to bone health and maintenance of muscle function through a combination of organic calcium citrate and magnesium citrate with added vitamins D and K. Osteoporosis is the leading cause of fractures in postmenopausal women aged 50 and over. It is estimated that 80% of fractures in this group are related to osteoporosis. Regular physical activity helps maintain bone mass with age, as bone metabolism is stimulated by the mechanical stress generated by impact. However, supplementation with calcium and vitamin D can support bone formation even when incorporated into a low-impact physical activity program. In a randomized clinical trial, 64 healthy postmenopausal women received 500 mg of calcium and 1000 units of vitamin D daily while following a daily low-impact aquatic exercise program for 6 months. At the end of the study period, a 15.8% increase in the bone formation biomarker P1NP (pre-collagen amino-terminal propeptide type 1) was observed compared to baseline measurements. P1NP is a biomarker of osteoporosis risk recognized as clinically relevant by the Bone Marker Standards Working Group. Vitamin K helps maintain bone health, in part by activating gamma-carboxyglutamic acid proteins, such as osteocalcin (BGP), which play a role in skeletal mineralization. Low levels of vitamin K may compromise the function of BGP proteins that are involved in regulating bone mineralization.

Dosage

Adults: Take one tablespoon once daily with meals, a few hours before or after taking other medications, or as directed by your practitioner. Shake well before each use. Do not refrigerate.
