Description

Col-Sterol is a blend of plant sterol esters used to reduce overall cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels. Plant sterols are similar in structure to cholesterol but differ in their side chain groups. The intake of plant sterols leads to a continuous cycle of reduced dietary cholesterol uptake, increased bile acid synthesis, reduced bile acid re-assimilation and increased cholesterol excretion in the feces. In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, daily supplementation with 1.3 g of sterol esters for four weeks reduced overall cholesterol and VLDL levels by about 5 and 4 percent, respectively, in 16 adults with hypercholesterolemia.

Dosage

Adults: Take 1 capsule 2 times daily with meals or as directed by your healthcare professional.
