Many lifestyle factors, particularly diet, can contribute to cardiovascular health. Consumption of highly processed, high-fat, low-fiber sugary foods has been associated with increases in total cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar levels.

Although cholesterol is necessary for a number of physiological processes in the body, excessive amounts cause atherosclerosis. On the other hand, the HDL ratio is an equally important parameter in terms of the risk of cholesterol-related health problems.

Traditional treatments aim to stop the production of cholesterol in the liver by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the key enzyme. However, this approach does not increase HDL levels to remove the excess cholesterol already present, it does not address the dysfunction of glucose metabolism, and it can have significant negative side effects. For these reasons, a multi-targeted approach would be more beneficial.

Cholesterol Control is bergamot (Citrus bergamia), a citrus fruit with a diverse and highly concentrated flavonoid profile, making it very beneficial for many cardiovascular processes. The polyphenols in bergamot have antioxidant properties. Some of the flavonoids in bergamot have a similar mechanism of action to conventional cholesterol-lowering drugs, while others have the added benefit of also increasing HDL to trap free cholesterol. In addition, its antioxidant properties may prevent inflammation associated with vascular damage, giving Cholesterol Control a holistic function in managing the risks associated with cardiovascular problems.

AOR's Cholesterol Control contains a proprietary extract of bergamot that has been extensively researched for its cardiovascular benefits. Other bergamot extract products may not be as effective because they are not standardized for the same amounts of active ingredients as Cholesterol Control.

Dosage

Adults: Take two capsules daily before a meal, or as recommended by a healthcare professional.
