Description

This product from Designs for Health provides glycine in a pure powder form allowing for individualized dosing. Glycine is a semi-essential amino acid required for structural protein synthesis, detoxification pathways and neurotransmitter function. It is the smallest amino acid: it has a side chain consisting of a single hydrogen atom. Although glycine is synthesized from serine in the human body, it has been shown that endogenous synthesis falls far short of the demand of many biological and metabolic factors for a healthy adult. Furthermore, the need for glycine may be even greater during periods of acute emotional or physiological stress and in individuals recovering from physical trauma.

Dosage

Adults: Take 1⁄2 teaspoon (3 g) daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. Mix well in 1-2 cup(s) of liquid (water, juice, etc.) immediately before consuming. Take at 2-hour intervals with medication, as the effectiveness of the medication may be altered. It is important to drink enough fluid before, during and after exercise.
