Description

HMF Replete supports healthy intestinal microflora throughout antibiotic use and in adults with IBS. The intestines contain more than 400 bacterial species, and the bacterial balance must be maintained to have healthy intestines. Antibiotics alter the gut microflora and can lead to the overgrowth of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Probiotics help maintain a naturally healthy microflora and help maintain normal gut flora after antibiotic therapy. IBS affects nearly 5 million Canadians and can also be the result of altered gut microflora. This leads to malabsorption of bile acids - which help digest fats - and in turn increases the secretion of fluid and mucus into the colon to dilute the bile acids. Because the lactobacilli and bifidobacteria help reabsorb the bile acids, less water enters the colon, which reduces the occurrence of diarrhea. In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial of 52 adults with IBS, daily supplementation with CUL-60, CUL-21, CUL-20 and CUL-34 significantly improved quality of life and satisfaction with bowel habits, and reduced the number of days with pain within 10 weeks.

Dosage

Adults: In a glass, add water to 1 packet of HMF Replete and mix. Take once a day with meals, at least 2 to 3 hours before or after taking antibiotics, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
