Description

Pancreatin is a digestive aid formula used to reduce bloating after high-calorie, high-fat meals. It provides a combination of pancreatic enzymes including lipase, amylase and protease that break down fats, carbohydrates and proteins respectively. There are also chymotrypsin and trypsin in pancreatic secretions, which also help with protein digestion. Proper pancreatic enzyme activity is essential for proper digestion and assimilation of nutrients, including assimilation of fat-soluble vitamins. Pancreatin contains enzymes that act like those normally secreted by the pancreas and help in the digestion of nutrients. Pancreatic enzyme supplementation has been shown to significantly reduce postprandial complaints related to high-calorie, high-fat meals such as bloating, gas, and overeating. Because pancreatic enzymes are sensitive to low pH, Pancreatin is specially formulated in time-release capsules that are resistant to stomach acid to target release into the duodenum and allow for optimal enzyme activity.

Dosage

Adults: Take 1 capsule 3 times daily with each meal or immediately before a meal, or as directed by your healthcare professional. Use the minimum effective dose to control symptoms. Consult your healthcare professional if use continues beyond 4 weeks.
