Description

Cucurbit oil is naturally high in LA essential fatty acids and helps maintain optimal health. Since essential fatty acids and their metabolites are needed to form the skin as a waterproof barrier, their deficiency can lead to scaly skin and moisture loss through the skin and eyes. Dietary supplementation with LA can reverse these symptoms because LA makes up about 12% of the fatty acids in the skin, and is essential for maintaining skin structure and function. The formation of ceramides, lipids found in the outer epidermal layer responsible for waterproofing, also depends on LA. In addition to its role in skin health, LA is an important source of energy and can metabolize to form other lipid molecules such as triglycerides and phospholipids. As a component of phospholipid membranes, LA serves to maintain membrane fluidity to ensure proper cell function.

Dosage
