Description

Saccharomyces boulardii is a non-pathogenic probiotic yeast that protects against antibiotic-associated diarrhea caused by a disruption in the balance of the intestinal flora. It is resistant to local stresses, including digestive enzymes, bile salts, organic acids, and temperature and pH variations. Because Saccharomyces boulardii is also naturally resistant to antibiotics, it can be taken by people taking antibiotics to support the digestive tract by maintaining the balance of the intestinal flora. Randomized placebo-controlled clinical trials, all conducted with hundreds of adults using antibiotics, have shown a significant preventive effect on cases of diarrhea. In addition, Saccharomyces boulardii is the only probiotic to have demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing cases of recurrent diarrhea associated with C. difficile, which is responsible for approximately 10-20% of antibiotic-associated diarrhea cases. Each Saccharomyces boulardii capsule contains 5 billion colony forming units (CFU).

Dosage

Adults: Take 2 capsules 1-2 times daily between meals, at least 2-3 hours before or after taking antifungals, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
