Description

If scientists call it “star of Bethlehem”, “umbel ornithogalum” or “Ornithogalum umbellatum”, amateur botanists like to nickname it “the eleven-hour lady”. For what ? Quite simply because the flowers of this little spring plant, with their immaculate white color, only open when the sun is at its highest point. They also close at dusk or in rainy weather. Another particularity: its harmonious and stable geometry, this flower being the only one to have six petals.

Very present in Europe, and particularly in France, the pennywort flourishes particularly in clay soils. It is often found in meadows and on the edges of paths where it grows, tenderly cradled by the sun's rays. It is also found as an ornamental plant in gardens, because its star-shaped flowers make perfect ornaments. It develops in the form of umbels which appear from the month of May. Each stem has between 5 and 15 flowers. This plant with its oviform bulb displays a size varying between 10 and 30 cm in height depending on the environment in which it grows. Shade and coolness contribute to its growth, although its flowering is encouraged by the sun.

Dosage

Adults: 2 drops in a glass of water or on the tongue 4 times a day.

Adultes : 2 gouttes dans un verre d'eau ou sur la langue 4 fois par jour.
