Description

SunButyrate™ Liquid has been designed to provide a supplemental food source of butyric acid with SunButyrate™, a proprietary triglyceride oil rich in butyrate. Butyrate is one of the most abundant short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the colon, where it acts as an important energy source for colon cells. Research has shown that butyrate accounts for approximately 70% of the total energy consumption of colonic epithelial cells (colonocytes). Once absorbed, colonocytes rapidly oxidize 95% of butyrate to ketone bodies for ATP2 synthesis. Thus, butyrate is an important source of energy for the body, providing 5-15% of a person's daily caloric needs.

SunButyrate™ provides butyrate in a unique and tasty triglyceride form, which protects against premature breakdown in the stomach and upper digestive tract. While other forms degrade up to 70% in the stomach, GI models and in vitro studies show that only 6-8% of SunButyrate™ degrades. In addition, this form maintains over 90% of its integrity in the gut. Available in a delicious natural blueberry and vanilla flavor, SunButyrate™ Liquid can be taken alone or mixed with food or beverages as a butyrate supplement.

Dosage

Adults: Take 1 teaspoon 1-2 times daily or as directed by your healthcare professional.
