Designs for Health offers N-acetyl cysteine in a 900 mg capsule. N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is an important amino acid precursor to glutathione (GSH), one of the body's most potent intracellular antioxidants, which helps optimize phase II hepatic biotransformation (liver detoxification). NAC is the most stable form as a nutritional supplement of the amino acid L-cysteine. It plays an essential role in respiration by supporting lung health, is also used to facilitate post-workout muscle recovery, and acts as a cytoprotectant against a wide range of pro-oxidant manifestations and inflammatory etiopathology. In addition, due to the presence of a sulfhydryl group (-SH), NAC offers protection against exposure to heavy metals and other harmful substances. NAC is found naturally in Allium plant species, particularly in onions, for which bioavailability is more interesting than for GSH alone in supplementation.

Dosage

Adults : Take 2 capsules daily.
